Hello Class,
I obtained an associate’s degree in nursing from William Rainey Harper College (). It is a community college located in Palatine Illinois. In 1967, the doors opened at William Rainey Harper College and they began nursing classes that same year. The two-year program served as a bridge for those students who previously became a Licensed Practical Nurse. It provided me with a sound clinical foundation and laid the framework for my continuing education. Going forward I will be curious how they will maintain enrollment in the program because of the national strategy to have entry-level nurses obtain a bachelor’s degree.
