-The research paper examines the relevance and significance of historical art objects in the twenty-first century. Students will choose a Baroque art object that has been represented in pop culture. Refer to pages 13 to 15 for a list of Baroque art objects represented in contemporary culture. Other examples are welcomed, but please seek approval from the course instructor before conducting any research. Students will conduct traditional historical research of the art objects and evaluate its incorporation into contemporary culture. What meanings are added or detracted from the objects representation in the twenty-first century? Is this an example of appropriation?
