TOPIC:  the nature of stratification
Address each of these questions separately and include make connections to the book, lecture, and or films.  For each question include at least 2 citations to course materials based on those connections.
1. How do anthropologists define stratification and inequality (social hierarchy)? How do the advent of agriculture, food surplus and the formation of states related to stratification and inequality? 

2.  Explain three major factors identified by Jared Diamond in Guns, Germs and Steel  that contribute to inequities across the globe.
3. How does World Systems theory (discussed in lecture!) help to explain the patterns Diamond observes and global stratification in general?
