In other words, lets assume your Interviewee has worked at Target for 7 years and has risen from stocker to cashier to the manager. This is a great interview choice! You need to make certain you are asking them questions about Target as a company, NOT asking them about their personal feelings regarding one store. In other words, what are the stories, policies, villains, etc. that are unique to that particular store OR Target as an international company and NOT to the 5 employees that your Interviewee is friends with. See the difference?
Most organizations (not all) will have a handbook, a company policies booklet, training manuals or videos, and this is where some of the information will come from (mission statement, policies, etc.). Only some of the information will come from interpersonal communication within the organization (heroes and villains, relationships, etc
