It does not matter if the assignment is about yourself(writer) or someone else that is made up.
The assignment is a personal economic development story. You will research as far back as you can in your family to discover where they came from before coming here, why they came here, what keeps them here.  What were the professions of people in your familygrandparents, great-grandparentsas far back as you can go.  This is a paper tracing your familys work history.  It is not a coincidence ‘why’ you live where you do. The paper is not a personal history or family tree.  You are looking at why your family is here, what did they do here.
Rubric for your paper: 

-Length: 1,200 words OR longerwords are not counted for your name or references.
-College quality cover sheetnot counted in the 1,200 words
-Reference page includes citations, and/or origins of information-not counted in the 1,200 words.
-You must check for spelling, grammar, run-on sentences, and punctuation.
-Remember, this is a where your family lived because of what they did for a living, work, profession, or because wherever they were living, the conditions were intolerable and they migrated to the county.
