It has been brought to my attention that you exhibited academic dishonesty in RS 361 during Fall 2020. Specifically, it was reported that you submitted short answer responses that contained plagiarized and copied content of other students.
This is a serious violation of section 41301 (b) (1) of the Student Conduct Code. Ordinarily, such conduct results in disciplinary action including suspension and/or probation.
You are asked to write and submit to me a Student Conduct Essay. Your double spaced, typewritten essay must be delivered to me by the required date. Your essay must be at least one full page in length, and should include the following points along with others that you believe important to share as you have reflected upon this situation.
1. An explanation of the misconduct for which you have been found in violation of the Student Conduct Code. That is, explain what you did.
2. An explanation of why you engaged in the misconduct.
3. Identify the persons affected by your misconduct (.e.g., yourself, faculty, staff, administrators, other students), and the impact that your behavior had on them.
4. A clear statement of apology for your violation of the Student Conduct Code.
5. A statement of what you intend to do to prevent a similar situationfrom occurring in the future.
6. A statement that you have read the Student Conduct Code and pledge never to violate it in the future.
