Directions:  Write a short 1-2 page review of the research you’ve conducted thus far for your Research Essay.  In your brief essay, you should include a thesis statement, a synthesis of your source work that identifies the trends or overlaps (or lack of thereof), and your analysis of your source work.  In your analysis, address what gaps are left in your research.  Three or four paragraphs should suffice for the entire Issue Synthesis.

This should help you get a sense of where you stand with your project and do some pre-writing on the body of your essay.  As well, you’ll receive some feedback from me on your research at about the same time you’ll be getting some feedback on your rough draft from your fellow students in a week or two.
