Read Chapters 8 and 9 and watch the video. After you completed the budget exercise, what did you find to be the most difficult part of creating your budget?  Do you think that directors of agencies have difficulty with budgeting both expenses and revenue dollars? In Chapter 9 the author talks about the risk to a 501(c)(3) status. What is that risk? How can it be avoided?  In this Module 3 you will learn about budgets and the differences between a line item and program budget. This will assist you as you move forward with your Fundraising Development Strategy Paper which is due next week. Make sure you continue to read. This week we will concentrate on Chapters 8 & 9 of the Effective Fundraising for Nonprofits text as well as Chapters 6-10 of the 199 Fun and Effective Fundraising Events text.
